Superocean Automatic 36 TPD & Winder Settings | Swiss Watch Store
Wondering how to programme your watch winder for the Breitling Superocean Automatic 36? You are in the right place. This model carries reference A17377211C1S1. It is powered by the Breitling Calibre 17 movement. Below are the correct TPD and rotation-direction figures for this model, so your watch is always ready to wear.
TPD and Winding Direction
The correct setting for the Superocean Automatic 36 is 650 turns per day, bidirectional: 650 turns per day with the rotor turning in both directions.
| Turns per day (TPD) | 650 |
| Rotation direction | Bidirectional |
| Movement | Breitling Calibre 17 |
Why the Correct Setting Matters
An automatic watch is only as accurate as its power reserve allows. Keep the mainspring properly tensioned and the Superocean Automatic 36 will hold its rate and be ready to wear the instant you pick it up — no resetting the time and date. Set the TPD too low and the watch can run down between wears. The movement will not be damaged (modern automatics have a slipping mainspring that prevents overwinding), but an under-wound watch is simply not doing its job. Correct settings are about accuracy and readiness, not safety.
Choosing a Watch Winder for the Superocean Automatic 36
The key feature to shop for is programmability: independent TPD and direction controls that cover 650 TPD bidirectional. Single-watch winders are ideal if the Superocean Automatic 36 flies solo; multi-watch winders make sense the moment you own two or more automatics. Our watch winder collection covers both.
