Neptune TPD & Winder Settings | Swiss Watch Store
An automatic like the Lorier Neptune only stays accurate while its mainspring holds charge. It is powered by the Miyota 9015 movement. Set your winder to the figures below and the Neptune stays wound, accurate and ready to pick up.
TPD and Winding Direction
The correct setting for the Neptune is 800 turns per day, bidirectional: 800 turns per day with the rotor turning in both directions.
| Turns per day (TPD) | 800 |
| Rotation direction | Bidirectional |
| Movement | Miyota 9015 |
Why the Correct Setting Matters
An automatic watch is only as accurate as its power reserve allows. Keep the mainspring properly tensioned and the Neptune will hold its rate and be ready to wear the instant you pick it up — no resetting the time and date. Set the TPD too low and the watch can run down between wears. The movement will not be damaged (modern automatics have a slipping mainspring that prevents overwinding), but an under-wound watch is simply not doing its job. Correct settings are about accuracy and readiness, not safety.
Choosing a Watch Winder for the Neptune
The key feature to shop for is programmability: independent TPD and direction controls that cover 800 TPD bidirectional. Single-watch winders are ideal if the Neptune flies solo; multi-watch winders make sense the moment you own two or more automatics. Our watch winder collection covers both.
Neptune Winder FAQs
What's the correct TPD setting for the Neptune?
The Neptune is specified at 800 turns per day. Most programmable winders offer this as a standard preset.
Which winding direction should I use?
Bidirectional — the winder should rotate in both clockwise and anticlockwise directions.
Can I use any watch winder for my Neptune?
Yes — provided it's programmable. Verify the winder offers 800 turns per day with bidirectional rotation before buying; fixed-setting winders may not match.
