Monaco Gulf Special Edition TPD & Winder Settings | Swiss Watch Store
The TAG Heuer Monaco Gulf Special Edition is an automatic watch: it winds itself from the motion of your wrist, but on the days it sits unworn a watch winder keeps the mainspring topped up. This model carries reference CAW211R. It is powered by the TAG Heuer Calibre 11 movement. Below you'll find the exact TPD setting and winding direction the Monaco Gulf Special Edition needs.
TPD and Winding Direction
The correct setting for the Monaco Gulf Special Edition is 650 turns per day, bidirectional: 650 turns per day with the rotor turning in both directions.
| Turns per day (TPD) | 650 |
| Rotation direction | Bidirectional |
| Movement | TAG Heuer Calibre 11 |
Why the Correct Setting Matters
Too few turns and the Monaco Gulf Special Edition stops between wears; the right figure keeps the mainspring in its sweet spot, where the movement runs most consistently. And there is no risk in experimenting: a modern automatic cannot be overwound on a winder, because the mainspring's slipping bridle releases excess tension. Getting the setting right is about convenience and accuracy, never about avoiding damage.
Choosing a Watch Winder for the Monaco Gulf Special Edition
For the Monaco Gulf Special Edition, look for a programmable winder offering a 650 TPD bidirectional programme. One watch? A single winder. Two or more automatics? A double or triple winder keeps the whole rotation ready. You'll find suitable models in our watch winder collection — check the programme list before you buy.
Monaco Gulf Special Edition Winder FAQs
What's the correct TPD setting for the Monaco Gulf Special Edition?
The Monaco Gulf Special Edition is specified at 650 turns per day. Most programmable winders offer this as a standard preset.
Which winding direction should I use?
Bidirectional — the winder should rotate in both clockwise and anticlockwise directions.
Can I use any watch winder for my Monaco Gulf Special Edition?
Yes — provided it's programmable. Verify the winder offers 650 turns per day with bidirectional rotation before buying; fixed-setting winders may not match.
